About Me

Hello, welcome, and thank you!

My name is Shelby Barron, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing telehealth therapy in New Hampshire and Maine. I have been a therapist for five years, with many additional years of experience in various community mental health roles. I also have a background in Medical Social Work, and am experienced with long-term care planning and emotional support for caregivers. My skillset lies primarily in treating depression, anxiety, interpersonal issues, and trauma. My therapeutic approach is somewhat eclectic, drawing from models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and person-centered planning. Collaboration and mutuality are foundations for my clinical practice; we will identify goals, develop a treatment plan, and implement that plan by working together. While I hope to use my mental health expertise to support you during our sessions, I also firmly believe that you are the expert of yourself and your experiences, and the expertise that you bring to the table is of equal importance. I look forward to utilizing our combined strengths to help you become a happier, healthier version of yourself.

Because of my diverse clinical background, I am happy to offer support to adults across the lifespan (ages 17 and up) experiencing a wide range of challenges. However, I especially enjoy providing empowering, goal-oriented therapy to young adults and women of all ages who seek to better understand and create change in their relationship patterns and behaviors. I specialize in helping people-pleasing, caring, generous individuals to find balance and ensure that their own needs are being met. Does this sound like you? Reach out, and let's get to work!
