Individual Therapy

Everything you need to know to get started

Individual therapy

I provide individual therapy for clients in NH and ME ages 17+ who need the space to process and explore their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life stressors. After the initial intake, sessions typically occur either weekly or bi-weekly for 55 minutes. As we work on your goals together over time, we'll evaluate how things are going and if our sessions are helping you with what you set out to achieve. When we find that you have made the progress you were hoping for, we may decide to focus on different goals, meet less frequently, or even celebrate your "graduation" from therapy.

Telehealth

Therapy sessions occur over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. This allows you to access therapy from the comfort of your own home, without having to account for travel time or expenses.

Hours

My availability is limited to evening hours (5-7pm) during weekdays only.

Rates

I charge $125 for a 55-minute individual therapy session. Full payment is due at the time of service delivery. A limited number of sliding scale opportunities are available based on financial need. You may wish to connect with me through Open Path Collective to learn more and explore the possibility of reduced session fees.

Insurance

I am in network with Optum/United Behavioral Health, and am an out-of-network provider with most other insurance companies. If your insurance plan has Out-of-Network (OON) benefits, I can provide or submit Superbills upon request to help you seek OON reimbursement from your insurance provider.

If you have Optum/United Behavioral Health insurance that you would like to use for therapy sessions, consider contacting your insurance company to ask the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health coverage through my insurance plan?
  • Do I have a deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my plan cover?
  • Do I have co-pays or co-insurance?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

If you have a different insurance provider and would like to use your insurance for therapy sessions, consider contacting your insurance company to ask the following questions:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits as part of my insurance coverage?
  • What is my coverage for outpatient psychotherapy?
  • What is the percentage of reimbursement for an out-of-network provider?
  • Do I have a deductible and has it been met?
  • What is the timeline for receiving reimbursement after submitting a claim?

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service delivery. I accept credit/debit cards, flexible spending accounts (FSAs), and health savings accounts (HSAs).

No-show policy

Because consistent engagement is a foundation for therapeutic progress, I request that you give me at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, or a fee for the missed appointment will be incurred.

No Surprises Act

Effective January 1, 2022, under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act (the “No Surprises Act”), federal law states that patients not using insurance have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much medical and behavioral health care will cost. A Good Faith Estimate will be provided in writing at least one business day before your first service. If you receive a bill at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, federal law stipulates that you may dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
